This is one of the plugins I have been waiting for since I started using craft CMS. I always wondered why a person had to manually manage the alt texts of images. Now he doesn't have to. By adapting the prompt you hardly have to manually rework it. The costs of the plugin and OpenAI tokens are totally negligible compared to the time saved. A great plugin that makes managing content more enjoyable.

AI Alt Text really streamlines image alt text generation. It integrates with Craft CMS seamlessly and quickly produces accurate, context-aware descriptions, saving an enormous amount of time. The cost of using OpenAI's gpt-4o-mini is negligible compared to the benefitβ€”alt text is generated almost instantly, making accessibility improvements realtively effortless. A special shoutout to the developer, who is incredibly friendly and responsive. Feature requests are handled swiftly, and it's clear they genuinely care about making the plugin as useful as possible. Highly recommended for anyone looking to automate alt text.

For a few months, I've been manually uploading my images to ChatGPT, creating a prompt to ask for alt text, then copy and pasting the output over into the CMS. This plugin simply does what it says on the can - it creates descriptive alt text at the click of a button, bypassing the somewhat tedious process above. From a few days working with it, the results have been great. Generally speaking, the output it creates is spot on. You still retain the option to manually edit the AI output for particularly bespoke images. A big time saver for content managers and webmasters, and certainly useful for image accessibility.
