Show YouTube, Vimeo and SoundCloud artwork on your cookie-consent placeholders without the visitor's browser contacting the provider.

Embedded Posters is an add-on for Embedded Assets by Spicy Web. Not made or supported by Spicy Web.

When an embed is saved, it downloads the embed's poster image on the server and stores it as an ordinary image asset, served from your own domain. Transforms, WebP and srcset work as with any other image.

Features

  • Posters are fetched when an embed is saved, and refreshed when its image changes
  • Posters follow their embed when it's deleted or restored
  • Template API with eager loading, so loops don't run a query per embed
  • Choose the volume and folder for posters; changing them moves existing posters
  • Console command to fetch posters for existing embeds
  • Only JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF and AVIF are accepted, up to 10 MB

Requires Embedded Assets 5 and Craft CMS 5.3 or later.
