Open Graph images for every entry, made on your own server. No Chrome or external service.
Placard gives every entry a 1200×630 social card for its og:image. Cards are made on your own server with Imagick, so there's no Chrome, Node or rendering service to set up.
🚧 Placard is in beta. Its config settings, Twig API and field may still change before 1.0.0.
Cards from your content
A card is label, title, description and meta text over a solid colour, with an optional logo and background image. The text comes from the entry's own fields, through templates like {title} or {seo.one().seoTitle ?? title}, and reaches into Matrix and Content Block fields.
Set up in one config file
config/placard.php sets the look for the whole site, with overrides per section and per entry type. Settings → Plugins → Placard previews the card your config makes. Use Inter (included) or your own font.
Select what's shared
The Social Image field lets editors share the generated card, an image of their own, or one of the entry's image fields, with a preview that updates as they edit. Define styles in the config and editors can choose between them too.
Plays nice with SEO plugins
A few lines of Twig pass the image to SEOmatic or SEOmate, or you can output the meta tags yourself.
Made on request and cached
Each card is made the first time it's requested, then cached. Only an entry's latest card is kept, and the cache can be cleared from Utilities → Caches.
