WriteAlt brings AI-powered alt text generation and image optimization directly into the Craft CMS control panel. Browse your Craft image assets in one workspace with previews, filenames, file sizes, alt-text status, and optimization status. Generate alt text individually, select multiple assets, or process all visible assets in bulk. Generated descriptions are saved to Craft’s native Asset Alternative Text field. You can also generate alt text directly from an individual Craft asset editor. WriteAlt supports 138 languages, five writing styles, and optional SEO keywords. Filter assets by missing alt text, optimization needs, or optimized status. Optimize supported images through Craft’s asset system while preserving the existing Asset record, filename, references, and alt text. Optimization does not create duplicate assets. The WriteAlt API key is stored in Craft’s server-side plugin settings. WriteAlt requires Craft CMS 5 or newer, a WriteAlt API key, and GD support for image optimization.
